LUTZE PLASTICS ENGINEERING: Investment in new technology
Further investments in new technology have been made at Lutze Kunststofftechnik. On one hand, the material storage has been optimised with a spacious steam-heated heating chamber. Furthermore, a rotation mechanism was purchased for coatings. With the new system, it is possible to coat round elements such as containers and pipes with diameters of up to 1500 mm and up to 3000 mm in length from the inside and outside. Weights of up to 2 tons can be handled in rotation casting.
New casting machine
A new casting machine was procured for this new rotation mechanism, among others. It can process TDI and MDI systems and is equipped with 5 additional components that make it possible to introduce dyes or other components into the mixing chamber. The maximum output capacity is designed to be 20 kg/min. This puts us in a position to process even greater component weights or coatings.
New Luwitan® models
Another new product has been successfully tested. It is possible to expand the bandwidth of the Luwitan® models downwards using a new system. The first applications with 15-20 Shore A systems ran perfectly. This is not necessarily the typical polyurethane hardness range, but in combination with the known advantages of the Luwitan family there seems to be interest in this material among some of our customers and on the market in general. This material shows its strengths especially when elasticity and grip are important.
